12440599_982747098485276_5252479294068555023_oSAIMON Project ”Satellite Near Real Time Monitoring Network of the Eutrophication Risk for the marine waters over the Greek-Albanian cross border area” aims to establish a Near Real Time and continuous satellite monitoring service for the eutrophication risk over the total eligible coastal area of the program, which will be available via the internet to the citizens, the scientific community and of course the responsible authorities. Samples will be taken along 244 km coastline on beaches: Vlorës, Orikum, Dhërmi, Himarë, Qeparo, Lukovë, Kakome, Sarandë, Kepi i Stillos. In these points will be measured parameters such as chlorophyll, temperature, transparency, pH, phosphor and nitrogen. The project is co-financed by the Europian Union and by the National Funds of Greece and Albania under the IPA cross border Program “Greece-Albania 2007-2013”.
